Estuary Pricing
Estuary charges on the data you move and the connector instances you run. You can also use Estuary for free for up to 10 GB of data a month and 2 connector instances, with no credit card.
Private and Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC) deployments are available on annual Enterprise plans with custom pricing.

Cost Categories
Data Volume Pricing
Data volume is priced at $0.50 per GB on the Cloud plan. Data movement costs apply to all data read into and out of data collections. Data is therefore counted:
- Once when captured from a source,
- Once for each destination it's delivered to,
- And when read into or out of a derived collection
Backfills are free for the first 30 days, so the initial load of historical data doesn't count toward your bill.
For materializations, volume is based on the amount of data Estuary reads and processes. Because of Estuary's reduction capabilities, the amount of data that lands in your destination may be smaller than the billed volume.
Data volume is measured as the uncompressed JSON size of each document. If your source stores data compressed or in a compact format, such as Parquet or gzipped files, the billed volume can be larger than the size of the data at the source.

Task Hour Pricing
Estuary charges on the connector instances you run.
An account's first 6 connectors cost $100 per month each. Each additional connector instance costs $50 per month.
Connector instances are billed by the hour, so you only pay for the time an instance is running. If you disable an instance early in the month or create one near the end, you pay only for the hours it was active.
On your bill, this appears as task hours. Based on a 720-hour month:
- The first 6 connector instances' worth of task hours are billed at about $0.14 per task hour ($100 ÷ 720).
- Task hours beyond that are billed at about $0.07 per task hour ($50 ÷ 720).
You may therefore see two separate task usage lines on your bill.
Some connectors accrue task hours at a reduced rate:
- Google Sheets captures and materializations, and Google Drive captures, don't accrue task hours.
- File source captures (Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Blob Storage, SFTP, HTTP file, Dropbox, OneDrive, and SharePoint) accrue task hours at one third of the normal rate.
Data volume pricing still applies to these connectors.
What counts as a connector instance?
Connector instances consist of configured sources (captures) and configured destinations (materializations).
Note that:
- A single capture can pull from many tables and still counts as one instance. A pipeline from a Postgres database with 500 tables to Snowflake uses 2 connector instances.
- Transformations (derivations) don't count as connector instances. The data they produce does count toward data volume.
- Disabled connector instances don't generate charges.
For example, the following architecture counts as two connector instances:
Billing Examples
Your monthly bill is the sum of your:
- Data volume: every GB captured from a source, delivered to a destination, and produced by a transformation, at $0.50 per GB.
- Connector instances: each active capture or materialization, billed by the hour.
Example: one source to one destination
Moving 100 GB a month from Postgres to Snowflake:

Billing Cadence
Users can choose between a discounted annual contract or a flexible pay-as-you-go (PAYG) plan.
Pay-as-you-go (Cloud plan): you're billed monthly for the data volume and task hours you use. There's no minimum commitment, and you can stop anytime. Add a credit card or U.S. bank account on the billing page, and it's charged automatically at the end of each billing cycle.
Annual plans (Enterprise): you commit to a set amount of monthly usage upfront at a discounted rate. Usage above your commitment is billed as overage at your contracted rate. Larger commitments and longer terms get deeper discounts. Annual plans are also required for private and BYOC deployments.
Enterprise, Private Deployment, and BYOC Pricing
Enterprise pricing is custom and based on your data volume, number of connector instances, deployment model, contract length, and support needs.
Private and BYOC deployments are available on annual or multi-year Enterprise contracts.

Private deployment: Estuary runs a dedicated data plane for you in any AWS, GCP, or Azure region. Infrastructure is managed by Estuary and included in your contract.

Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC): Estuary runs and manages the data plane inside your own AWS, GCP, or Azure account. You pay your cloud provider directly for the underlying infrastructure.
Both options let you run Estuary in the same cloud and region as your sources and destinations. That can reduce or eliminate data transfer (egress and ingress) fees from your cloud provider.

Estuary for Free
Estuary includes options for free data movement.
Free Plan
Use Estuary for free when working with one low-volume data pipeline. The free Developer plan includes the full platform: 200+ connectors, real-time and batch pipelines, exactly-once delivery, automatic schema evolution, and transformations in SQL or TypeScript.
You can remain on the free plan indefinitely, with no credit card, within these limitations:
- Up to two connector instances
- Up to 10 GB of data volume per month
Exceeding these limits will automatically move you into a free trial.

If you go over the free plan limits, a 30-day free trial of the Cloud plan for public deployments starts automatically.
We'll email you before your trial ends. To keep your pipelines running, add a payment method on the billing page. If you don't plan to continue, disable the connector instances you no longer need so they don't generate charges.
